My Favourite Festival I have many favourite festivals throughout the year, but my absolute favorite is Christmas. The magic begins on Thanksgiving Day when families come together to appreciate the harvest and express gratitude for the abundance in their lives. The following day, December 25th, kicks off the Christmas season with the lighting of the first Christmas tree in New York City. People adorn their homes with lights and ornaments, and the streets are filled with twinkling lights and carolers singing classic Christmas tunes. On Christmas Eve, families gather around the table for a special dinner called "Turkey Dinner", where turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, and green bean casserole are served. It's a time for reflection and anticipation as everyone prepares for the big day. Christmas Day is the ultimate celebration, where families and friends come together to exchange presents, sing carols, and eat copious amounts of cookies. The day after Christmas, January 6th, is known as Boxing Day in the UK, where people celebrate by opening gifts they received on Christmas Day. The aroma of freshly baked cookies fills the house and the excitement builds as the decorations come out.
